Former Liverpool man hits a hat-trick on his Saudi Pro League debut

Roberto Firmino made a rampant arrival into the Saudi Pro League as he debuted for Al-Ahli by hitting a terrific hat-trick against Al-Hazm on Friday night. It was a dream start for the Brazilian, who scored twice inside the opening ten minutes before adding the third late in the second half.

Having taken up the captain's armband for Al-Ahli, the former Liverpool striker commenced the scoring with a skilful near-post header in the sixth minute. Just four minutes later, Firmino extended Al-Ahli's lead to 2-0 with a simple tap-in.

Two of his teammates who also joined the club during this transfer window created Bobby's second goal of the match.

Former Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin showcased his skills as he surged forward from within his half. He burst forward and expertly distributed the ball out wide to another marquee signing, Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian delivered a precise low cross that met Firmino's path.

Fellow Brazilian Vina pulled one back for the visitors with a fantastic lob that embarrassed Edouard Mendy, but this night belonged to Al-Ahli's big-money recruits.

Saint-Maximin then delivered a perfect cross for Firmino to head in the third goal and ensure three points for the boys in green.

So, this is what happens when a bunch of world-class players come to play in a virtually unknown league? Well, we're intrigued!
