The Seagulls await Chelsea in the opening game of the next Premier League round on Friday night (11 pm)

Chelsea will face Brighton at Amex Stadium tonight for the second time in just six days.

The Blues lost to the hosts last Saturday after throwing away a one-goal lead. However, Chelsea's boss, Enzo Maresca, claims that it is easier for him and his Chelsea players to prepare for tonight's match because they are now "so familiar with the Seagulls".

Still, Maresca will search for a victory without Nicolas Jackson as he is set to be out of action for the next month-and-a-half at least. The alternative striker, Marc Guiu, is also injured, so the Italian tactician must look for alternatives.

Christopher Nkunku will probably find his place in the starting XI despite a woeful display against the same rival last week. This will be a perfect chance of redemption for the 27-year-old Nigerian, who has scored two goals and registered a single assist this entire season.

He'll probably be accompanied by the other underperformer, Jadon Sancho, who desperately needs to rediscover his old self and do it as soon as possible. Therefore, he'll be hoping for a place in the squad from the kick-off and some excellent through-balls from Chelsea's probably best player, Cole Palmer.

The Blues are four points behind the third-placed Nottingham Forest, and the win is obligatory if they want to stay in contention for the Champions League football next season.
