Blow for wobbly Bandari as offensive quartet ruled out of Tusker duel

Bandari head coach Andre Casa Mbungo is a worried man ahead of their visit to defending champions Tusker as four of his offensive players are down with injuries.

The dockers are set to play Tusker on Wednesday at the Ruaraka grounds seeking to arrest their recent four-game winless run that has curtailed their surge to the summit of the log.

Mbungo revealed that four players who are all starters will miss the match with three facing lengthy layoffs, a development that he says will force him into the transfer market and strengthen the team before the window closes this weekend.

The Rwandese trainer said the trio of Umaru Kasumba, Ndemi Keegan and Whyvonne Isuza, were all set to be sidelined for the better part of the second leg.

Further, he revealed that Johana Mwita who has been on top of his game will sit out when they face the redemption seeking brewers after picking a knock against Wazito and thus, their chances of scoping maximum points have reduced significantly.

The former AFC Leopards boss who blamed the recent run to the swelling injury list said the unavailability of the lethal arsenals leaves him with limited options upfront.

“We haven’t won for some time due to injuries in the team. All the players on the treatment table are attack minded and this goes to explain why our goal returns have dwindled in recent times. It is unfortunate that I am preparing for the Tusker match which I expect to be tough without them but I will work with the available ones and try to get positive results,” he said.

Mbungo in the meantime will be hoping to sign at least four players before the midseason transfer window shuts this weekend. At the same time, the towering gaffer said there was a possibility of promoting outstanding players from their junior side.
