Lens' goalscoring sensation has reportedly agreed on a five-year contract with RBL

RC Lens have had a sensational season as they finished second in Ligue 1, just a point behind Paris Saint-Germain. The whole team was immense all season, but they wouldn't get quite so good without a prolific goalscorer. Their goal machine Lois Openda has earned a tempting call from Germany, where he's been chosen to replace the outgoing Christopher Nkunku at RB Leipzig.

The Belgian international has scored 21 goals and provided four assists for Sang et Or. According to Bild, RB Leipzig and Openda's agent have agreed on a five-year contract for the 23-year-old forward, but the deal is still some way off - because two clubs must agree upon the transfer fee - which will likely be around $30 million.

Openda's anticipated arrival at RB Leipzig ushers in an exciting new era for the German Cup winners. He is prepared to fill Nkunku's shoes. After a fruitful four-year stay in Germany, the France international will move on to Chelsea.

Nkunku's outstanding goal output of 23 goals and nine assists in only 36 games leaves a considerable gap to fill - despite the former PSG man struggling with niggling injuries for most of the season.

He finished the year as the Bundesliga's leading scorer and will now test himself in the Premier League. He will be charged with helping the Blues forget about the disastrous 2022/23 season.
