Big Brest win! Lens suffer a hammering and fail to return to second spot

Stade Brestois produce their performance of the season against high-flying visitors
Few would have expected such a comprehensive victory for Brest over Lens in the Ligue 1, but attacking duo of Steve Mounie and Jeremy Le Douaron.
It was a perfect day for the home side at Stade Francis-Le Ble. Even though their league table positions suggested a close encounter with Lens the team more likely to win, early goals from Mounie and Brandan Chardonnet did the damage. Later goals only added to Lens' misery as their attempt to leapfrog Rennes and return to the second spot ended in tatters.

Brest started the season terribly, but today's win actually marks their fifth match in a row without defeat - and their third win on the bounce.
Lend did come close to getting back in the game in the first half with former Chelsea, Fulham and Sevilla man Gael Kakuta hitting the post. But this wasn't Blood and Gold's day. Just a few minutes later, with barely half an hour played, the hosts were 3-0 ahead thanks to a lovely left-footed finish by Romain Favre past the desperate dive of goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca.
Lens' miserable day was completed with a sending off of their substitute attacker Arnaud Kalimuendo. He came on around the hour mark to try and at least make the scoreline a bit more bearable for Franck Haise's team, but he was sent off just 15 minutes later for a dangerous tackle.
The final whistle was met with big cheers for Michel Der Zakarian's side who continue their revival.
