Bayern's shooting practice ends with four bullseye hits

The Bavarians easily dismantled Heidenheim on the road (4-0) and continued their ruthless Bundesliga dominance

The shocking 2-2 draw against the bottom-placed Mainz a week ago was just a minor temporary setback for Bayern Munich, as they shortly returned to winning ways, smashing Heidenheim on the road 4-0.

Given that Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich were sidelined due to injuries, Harry Kane was the Bavarians' captain for the first time, in a game that felt more like a shooting practice than a genuine competitive match.

The Munich side finished the clash with 23 attempts (11 on target) and could have scored even more than two goals in each half. However, as if the captain's armband put a slight pressure on him, Kane wasn't as efficient as the public was used to, so his teammates had to step up.

Josip Stanisic, a quarter of an hour into the game, and Michael Olise, 17 minutes later, gave Vincent Kompany's men a comfortable lead, but even though many expected a continuation of a scoring spree after the break, Bayern netted their next goal only in the 86th minute.

During the second half, the Bavarians' fans must have thought of the clash against the same rival from April 2024, played at the same venue, when the German giants gambled away a 2-0 advantage at the break and lost the game 3-2.

Still, Luis Diaz and (finally) Kane in the second minute of added time sealed the deal, preventing any eventual surprise.
