Battle for WPL second place continues

Gaspo Women host Bunyore Starlets at Stima club with maximum points moving them closer to finishing second as the Women Premier League (WPL) conclusion nears.

The Tila Wangui-led side are currently fourth on the log at 33 points, one adrift third-placed Thika Queens and two from second-placed Ulinzi Starlets. 

In their last outing away in Wadadia, Gaspo managed a 0-2 victory and are looking to continued the winning ways and hope Ulinzi falter in their campaign against Kisumu All Starlets to assume second place. 

Joseph Mwanza-coached Ulinzi are,however, careful not to drop any more points as they have so far played for eight draws that easily gave Vihiga Queens an easy time in winning the league. 

Coming off a draw against Trans Nzoia Falcons, the military side are hoping to get back to winning ways and ensure they don't lose the second spot on the log. 

Meanwhile, winners Vihiga Queens are in Nairobi where they face bottom-placed Kangemi Ladies in their quest to finish the league unbeaten. Their hosts are still chasing a second league win. 

The fourth match of the day pits Nakuru Queens against Kayole Starlets in Nakuru as the hosts looking to get back to winning ways, coming off a two-all draw against Kisumu. Kayole, on their part are out to clinch a sixth victory that would help them in the quest to survive relegation.
