Belgian giant is one of Barca's big targets for the upcoming transfer window

Inter’s rampant striker Romelu Lukaku has found his best for again and the world’s biggest clubs are casting envious looks to Italy. After a largely frustrating spell at Old Trafford, the Belgian hitman is proving a goalkeepers’ nightmare once more as Inter race to Serie A title after a decade. His stay in Italy could be cut short, however, with Ronald Koeman a big fan of the former Anderlecht youngster.

Barcelona looked out of sorts in the early stages of the season but they are looking great right now. They’ve been knocked out of the Champions League, which was a big disappointment, but they have managed to close the gap between themselves and Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga to just four points with ten matches to go. Besides, the club elections that caused all sorts of drama are now done and dusted so everyone can get on with their jobs. And one of the important tasks for the club’s officials is to secure the playing staff for next season.

Keeping Lionel Messi at the club didn’t seem so likely a few months ago but Barcelona’s new president Joan Laporta made it his personal and professional goal to keep the legendary Argentine from departing Camp Nou. Apart from that, coach Ronald Koeman has identified four targets that would give his side a boost in quality across the pitch: defender Eric Garcia from Manchester City, midfielder Gini Wijnaldum from Liverpool, as well as forwards Memphis from Lyon and Romelu Lukaku from Inter.

Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola is also believed to be interested in Lukaku, especially if Sergio Aguero opts against extending his stay in Manchester. The upcoming transfer window promises to be an intriguing one with many big-name players looking willing to change their colours.

Lukaku has scored 33 goals in 42 matches for club and country this season with 19 of those strikes coming in Serie A. A wealth of experience, fantastic physical and technical ability and the age of just 27 make Romelu one of the best attacking players in the world right now. The question is – will he be tempted into a move to Spain.
