The Cassa Mbungo coached side finished the whole month of August without tasting defeat

Coastal based Bandari FC secured a third place finish in the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign after emerging 2-0 winners against Wazito in their final match of the season staged at Mbaraki Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

Going into the match, Bandari sat in third on 50 points but were still not assured of sealing that spot as they were only two points of AFC Leopards who were waiting to pounce in fourth.

In the game against Wazito though, a goal in either half from Johanna Mwita and Umaru Kasumba ensured the Cassa Mbungo coached side grabbed the three points as they improved on their ninth placed finish in the premature 2019/2020season that was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.

Western Stima 2-5 Mathare United

Playing for the first time this season without any pressure, Mathare United recorded their biggest win of the season as they thumped relegated Western Stima by five goals to two in a league match played at Moi Stadium.

Mathare went ahead on two occasions through goals from Daniel Otieno and Clifford Alwanga but in all two instances, Stima managed to peg themselves back in the match, first through Steve Biko and then through Michael Karamor who converted from the spot, all four goals scored in the opening 22 minutes.

Eight minutes to the first half break, Alwanga gave his team the lead for a third time in the match as the two sides headed into the interval. In the second half, Khalid Jumaan and John Mwangi added a further two to complete the rout.

Ulinzi Stars 2-1 Posta Rangers

Ulinzi Stars came from behind to record a 2-1 win against a visiting Posta Rangers as they ended their 2020/2021 season with a win recorded at the Nakuru ASK Grounds.

Eliud Lokuwam had given the mailmen a first half lead following a strike in the 37th minute. The Soldiers however turned the tables in the second half through strikes from Mark Bikokwa and Oscar Wamalwa that were enough to complete the turnaround.
