
Babu lauds rising star Emoni after Emerging Stars call up

Alfred Emoni was named in provisional Kenya U23 squad
Kisumu AllStars coach Salim Babu has praised his young striker Alfred Emoni Tanui after the forward was named in Kenya U23 provisional team that went into camp to prepare for the upcoming CECAFA Championship in Ethiopia.
The former Kapenguria Heroes FC and Gor Mahia youth team player has been in sensational form for the NSL side and is one of the highly-rated players in the league. He has scored 12 league goals for the promotion-chasing Kisumu-based club.
Babu has now hailed the pacy attacker and termed the call-up merited. He believes that the player will play a great role in the success of the team.
“He is a good player and the call up is well deserved. He has worked really hard and I am happy for him. He will be a great asset for the U23 team and Harambee Stars in the near future,” he told Mozzart Sport.

He has however warned the youngster against laxity - urging him to grab the chance as he is privileged to receive to be part of the team.
“Getting an opportunity to play for your country should not take for granted because we have so many players who would have been picked. So it is about him taking his chance and showing the coaches that he deserves to be part of the team,” he added.
The gaffer was also full of praise for the youngster for the growth he has made. He described him as hardworking and one who is willing to learn.
“He is a good boy - he takes instructions well and is keen to learn. As a coach, it is satisfying when you see a player you gave a chance grab it and excel. Tanui is one player who is hungry for success and I believe that one day he will be a top player, he concluded.
