Gonzalez joined the Spanish third tier side in August this year

Kenyan internationals Eugene Asike and Ismael González watched from the bench as their respective sides recorded different results in their respective leagues on Saturday, with Anthony Wambani coming on in the second half.

Asike's Karlstad played to a two-all draw with Wambani's Vasalund in Sweden while in Spain Gonzalez's Sabadell hit Barcelona II 4-1.

Wambani was introduced in the 73rd minute for Andrew Stadler with Vasalund already leading 2-1 in what seemed like a move by the coach to lock the game and take home all three points.

However, Karlstad found the equalizer ten minutes after the Kenyan had been introduced, but there was never going to be action for the former Tusker FC defender to come up against his compatriot.

Since moving to Sabadell in the recent transfer window, Gonzalez has made three league appearances, starting once and coming on from the bench in two instances from the eight matches the team has played this season.

Elsewhere, Clarke Oduor was also an unused substitute as Hartlepool lost 2-1 to Harrogate Town in England's League Two.

Oduor is on loan from League One side Barnsley but he is yet to cement a place in the starting team having featured six times, four of those being from the bench.
