Immediate former Gor Mahia defender Michael Apudo had handed K'Ogalo slim hopes of retaining the league.

After jumping ship from Gor Mahia to Posta Rangers, Michael Apudo has revealed the reigning league champions will face an uphill battle to retain their title.

K’Ogalo have been appalling this season as their stuttering start to the season leaves them in eighth position and trail log leaders Tusker by a massive 16 points.

Apudo who endured a disastrous start to the season after an impressive start to life at Gor Mahia following his move back in January 2020 noted that K’Ogalo have a glimmer of hope in retaining the league owing to their games in hand.

“This time the league is competitive, there are a number of teams up there fighting for the title, it's going to be a challenge for them but let us see how things will turn out. If they win all their games in hand (2) they stand a chance but you cannot really tell who will lift the league because the league is very competitive,” said Apudo.

Gor Mahia have already lost four games this season which one less than the most they have lost and ended up winning the title which came back in 2018 but have two games in hand.

Apudo opened up on his targets after resigning for Posta Rangers in the January transfer window as he harbours hopes of playing for the National Team.

“My ambition till the end of the season is to lift the team from the position that it is in and build my career as a football player.”

“I think all players dream of playing in the national team and that is one thing that I hope to achieve in the near future,” added Apudo.

The former Sony Sugar defender will face stiff opposition to play for Harambee Stars with Eric Marcelo Ouma, Aboud Omar and David Messi Owino above him in the pecking order.
