Antony shines again - another brace for easy Betis win

Former Manchester United player hasn’t been shining lately — but when he does, it’s spectacular. This time, he bagged a brace for Betis in their 2–0 win over Mallorca
With only one point from their clashes against Atletico and Villarreal, Betis seemed to be going through a rough patch — yet the difficult period left no visible scars. On the contrary, the Andalusian side stepped into November, a month featuring a string of somewhat easier fixtures, in commanding fashion, demolishing Mallorca 3–0 (3–0) at their Benito Villamarín in La Liga’s 11th round.

The team from the Balearic Islands arrived in Seville encouraged by several positive results over the past month, but just as they seemed to have emerged from their crisis, they were stopped in their tracks by Antony.
The Brazilian, who had struggled to find form earlier in the season, delivered perhaps his best performance since joining Betis — or more precisely, his best half. The former Manchester United winger decided the game within the first 45 minutes, leaving no room for doubt about the outcome.

Mallorca started the match with more energy, but Antony clipped their wings as early as the 10th minute. After a quick one-two with Kike Hernandez, he fired a precise shot inside the near post. The goal is HERE! Some twenty minutes later, he struck again — this time after combining with Hector Bellerin on the right flank, cutting inside and curling the ball beautifully into the far corner.

Just three minutes after that second goal, Betis landed the knockout blow. Antony turned provider this time, whipping in a cross toward the penalty spot, where Abde Ezzalzouli met it in full stride and smashed it home. The goal is HERE!
In the end, Mallorca can consider themselves fortunate not to have suffered an even heavier defeat — Betis could easily have scored five if not for visiting goalkeeper Lukas Bergstrom, who denied Kike Hernandez a clear chance in first-half stoppage time and later, fifteen minutes from the end, prevented Antony from netting the first hat-trick of his senior career.
