Another exit looming at Gor Mahia as keeper heads for exit door

Njau has only been with Gor Mahia for one season as he joined the former champions at the start of the last campaign

Gor Mahia goalkeeper Samuel Njau is currently training with Posta Rangers and is set to sign for the club, Mozzart Sport can confirm.

Njau, who joined Gor Mahia at the beginning of last season was rarely used at the start of the campaign but got a run of a couple of games towards the end of the season but he's now set to end his association with the record league champions.

He has been training with the rebuilding Mail-men and will soon ink a deal with the club ahead of the 2021/22 FKF Premier League campaign.

"Njau has been training with us and we are only waiting for his release letter from Gor Mahia before we can register him officially. The goalkeeping coach was interested in bringing on board and he has been impressive in training. He definitely injects some competition in the goalkeeping department and that's a healthy thing because when there's no competition for a position, laxity tends to creep in. He is definitely a good addition to the team," an official of the club, speaking on condition of anonymity told Mozzart Sport.

Njau has previously played for Ligi Ndogo, Nairobi Stima, and Sony Sugar before landing at Gor Mahia. His departure comes at a time when Gor's first choice custodian Gad Mathews has hinted that he could leave the club this window as he has offers from outside the country.

He will become Posta's tenth signing of the season after Victor Majid, Sammy Imbuye, Timothy Otieno, Kennedy Owino, Victor Ndinya, Chrispinus Onyango, Alfred Tanui, Salmon Otieno and Levin Ochieng.
