Bandari centre back Rodgers Aloro is hoping to end his six-game wait for playing time when the dockers host Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday next week at the Mbaraki Stadium.

Aloro last tasted competitive football in Bandari’s shocking 2-0 home loss to Posta Rangers and has since been catching proceedings from the substitutes bench.

Coach Andre Casa Mbungo has been having a bias on a three-man backline constituted by assistant skipper Felly Mulumba, Andrew Juma and Brian Otieno with the full backs being deployed as wing backs in a bid to commit more numbers forward.

Aloro who joined the coastal side before the season began from Tusker said he was praying to be considered for game time should Mbungo decide to tweak his defence as he seeks to help the club arrest its four-game winless run.

“I am praying that I will get back to the team when we play Ulinzi in the final fixture of the year. I have been training as usual but I have not been lucky to get the opportunity to play. I have been working hard and at the same time exercising patience and supporting my colleagues especially when I am not considered for playing time. I believe that once I get the opportunity to play, I will impose myself in the team,” he said.

Commenting on the recent poor run that has seen them bag four points in as many matches, the Ugandan import singled out lack of cutting edge in the forward line for the unwanted results.

Mbungo recently admitted that the club was struggling to beat opponents thanks to the absence of the injured trio of Abdallah Hassan, Darius Msagha and Benjamin Mosha.

We have been playing well but getting results has been a little bit challenging. We need to be more clinical in front of the goal for us to get back to winning ways,” he added.
