All systems go for CAF annual Club Licensing seminar

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Professional Football Department will hold a three-day CAF Club Licensing continental seminar in Cairo, Egypt from tomorrow (Wednesday) to Friday.

The continental body will be launching several new regulations, an online platform, projects related to club licensing, and stadiums and the professionalization of club football in Africa in this year's edition.

CAf has invited all the 54 Member Associations, but it remains unclear whether Kenya will be represented at the annual event due to the ongoing FIFA suspension, and by who if there will be a representative.

Other participants and guests include members of CAF Executive Committee, CAF Organising Committees, zonal unions, FIFA and sister confederations, FIFPRO Africa, Club Licensing Seminar Instructors, and others.

Muhammad F. Sidat, the head of CAF Professional Football Department, opines that the seminar will be an important moment for CAF, and has urged the participants take the most out of it.

“This continental seminar is going to be an important landmark moment for CAF. During the event, we plan to engage with the CAF Member Associations and launch the new CAF Club Licensing System and stadiums regulatory framework, in addition to the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform. We have very high expectations from this seminar, and we hope that the participants can take out the most of the platform," Sidat said as quoted on CAFonline.

Kenya already missed representation at the CECAFA General Assembly in April this year, and will most likely miss CAF's General Assembly set for August 10 in Arusha, Tanzania.
