Galatasaray are building a squad for big achievements, and this time their target is a player from Tottenham
First, Turkey was shaken by the arrival of Victor Osimhen. Then came the explosion with Leroy Sane. And after two months of silence, Galatasaray decided once again to drop a bomb across the Bosphorus.
This time, the Istanbul giants’ management have agreed on the transfer of Yves Bissouma. The Malian midfielder is arriving from Tottenham on loan with an obligation to buy, according to the British Telegraph.

The former Brighton player had long given the green light for a change of scenery, as Spurs’ new manager Thomas Frank does not count on him. He wasn’t in the squad against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup, nor in the weekend clash with Manchester City.
Under Ange Postecoglou, he was a regular, particularly important last season when Tottenham won the Europa League, during which Bissouma played 44 matches in all competitions and scored two goals.
He still had 12 months left on his Tottenham contract, but will sign a new one-year deal so that Galatasaray can activate the purchase option from the London club. Frank currently has Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and Joao Palhinha in midfield. All of them have been getting minutes in recent matches, so it’s clear there’s no room left for Bissouma.

However, interest in his services was not lacking. Galatasaray weren’t the only ones in the race — West Ham were also mentioned. The Hammers’ main card was Bissouma’s connection with Graham Potter. The two worked together at Brighton, and Potter was one of the key figures behind Bissouma’s rise and his 29.2 million euros move to Tottenham.
Juventus were also linked at one point, but it seems the Old Lady have other targets in mind. Galatasaray, on the other hand, were the most concrete of all suitors. Okan Buruk is getting another dream signing. The gauntlet has been thrown in the face of Fenerbahce and Jose Mourinho. We’ll see if there will be a response from the other side.
