Just like many Kenyan outfits, Ingwe have endured financial challenges over the years that have made it difficult for the club to compete with its peers in the region, like the Tanzanian duo of Simba SC and Young Africans (Yanga).
In his campaign manifesto, club chairman Bonface Ambani promised to turn around the side’s financial fortunes by embracing innovative ways of raising funds, especially leveraging on the club’s mass following.
In the new initiative, fans will be requested to contribute Ksh50 only, which, when pooled together, will see the club realise a projection of at least Ksh50 million.

In an elaborate explanation by Ambani, the club projects their fan base to an average of 10 million followers, with half of them being militant supporters (die-hard fans).
In their projection, if 20% (1 million) of the fans respond to the clarion call and give a minimum of Ksh50 each, the club will be able to realise the targeted amount.
Leopards are targeting to market the initiative through road shows, TV and radio advertisements, sensitisation through branches, as well as during their matches.

According to the plan, the money realised from shirt and league sponsorship, as well as match day revenue, will be left to carry out the club’s day-to-day activities.
With the operational costs handled, the targeted Ksh50 million will then be used to buy the best players from within the country and the region, build a clubhouse where all players will reside and open up retail shops for the sale of merchandise.
According to Ambani, the amount will help the club in purchasing land in either Kajiado or Konza and build a stadium with a minimum capacity of 10,000.
The club will also be able to build an Injury Hospice for the professional treatment of sports injuries, explore ways to mortgage City Stadium, as well as start an Ingwe TV and radio that will bring on board renowned sports presenters.
