Togo legend Emmanuel Adebayor spared some encouraging words for the Harambee Stars team after visiting their dressing room.

Arsenal cult hero Emmanuel Adebayor made a surprise visit to the Harambee Stars dressing room after their ending their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with a 2-1 victory over Togo.

The Togo international who is yet to officially announce his retirement from international football watched the game at Stade de Kégué in Lomé as Togo ended their qualifying campaign without a win.

The former Manchester City forward asked the players to strive and make their careers a success as he also sensitized the players on Covid-19.

“I just want to tell you guys to believe in yourselves, no matter what just give it 100%, you never know what tomorrow is made of, you can become a hero or a villain, put all the chances on your side to become a hero.”

“Good luck as you continue with your careers, we have to wear masks and protect ourselves, if we are not healthy we cannot do our job so you guys have to send the message out there so once again good luck,” said Adebayor

Harambee Stars bagged the win courtesy of goals in either half from Abdalla Hassan and a penalty from Masud Juma with the Togo consolation goal coming from Henri Eninful who converted his spot-kick.

Kenya missed out on qualification by two points after failing to win any of their home matches registering a 1-1 draw against Egypt, Togo and Comoros.

Adebayor became the second high-profile player to pay Harambee Stars a visit to their dressing room after Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah did so after the draw last Thursday.

The 37-year-old has been without a club since July 2020 after parting ways with Paraguaying club Olimpia.
