The Olympic champion and the Jamaican 400m star had announced last year that their wedding would take place in the spring of 2026, but they stopped short of revealing the exact date.
Having been engaged since October 2024, the long wait has been deliberate, with the couple choosing to focus on their careers before locking in their big day.
Now, the cat is out of the bag.
On Saturday, Bromfield took to her Instagram story with a cryptic but revealing message: “THE LYLES 03:01:02,” accompanied by the words month, days, and hours under each set of digits. Counting forward from January 2, 2026, the countdown points to April 4, 2026, effectively confirming the much-speculated wedding date.
Lyles also dropped a subtle hint of his own, resharing a post from his brother Josephus, who appeared to confirm his role as a groomsman.
Josephus captioned his post, “@nojo10 bout that time,” while wearing a t-shirt boldly printed with the words “Groomsman 44,” driving the message home.
The world 100m champion has previously spoken openly about his desire to host a memorable and meaningful wedding, revealing deeply personal details that will make the occasion special.
Among them will be two empty front-row seats reserved in honour of Bromfield’s late mother, Sandra Farquharson, and her brother, Christopher, both of whom passed away in recent years.
Bromfield grew up in a humble household and often credits her mother’s sacrifices as a driving force behind her pursuit of athletics.
Tragically, Farquharson was diagnosed with stage-four cervical cancer in January 2021 and passed away just a month later, as Bromfield was preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
In 2019, she had also lost her brother Christopher, compounding the grief she had carried. Honouring their memory on her wedding day is expected to be a deeply emotional moment for the sprinter.
When it comes to the guest list, the couple have also had to strike a balance. Lyles initially floated the idea of inviting around 400 guests, but Bromfield quickly trimmed the number down to approximately 250.
The final list will include several fellow Olympians, along with a select group of football and basketball stars.
