In the men's 5000m, Berihu Aregawi of Ethiopia ran the 5th quickest time in history after clocking 12:40.45 as World Record holder Joshua Cheptegei was left to settle for second place in 12:41.61.
In the men’s 1500m, there is still no matching middle distance star, Jakob Ingebrigtsen as he controlled the race from start to finish, only ever being led by the pacemakers.
With athletes trying to come by him in the home stretch, he ignited his kick and ran away from the field to finish in top spot, clocking 3:28.72 and continuing to stay within touching distance of the world record.
