The 27-year-old led Ethiopia's Ftaw and Kenya's Reline to an all African podium
Kenya’s Veronica Loleo extended her recent purple-patch on the road after claiming victory in the Buenos Aires Half Marathon on Sunday, 24 August.
The 27-year-old, who ranks 38th in women’s road running, won her latest installment in the Argentinian capital in a time of 1:06.58, making it three consecutive wins for her since May, and a debut win on the course following her fourth place finish last year.

Loleo led the duo of Ethiopia’s Ftaw Zeray and fellow Kenyan Catherine Reline Amanangole through the opening five kilometers in a swift 15:17, but the pace dropped further in the second stages to rule out an attack on the course record.
The trio reached the 10 kilometer mark in 31:18, before Loleo went down to business to take the race win, which adds to her recent victories at the United States - the 15km Boilermaker Road Race, and the 12km Lilac Bloomsday Run.

Meanwhile in the men’s race, Uganda’s world half marathon record-holder Jacob Kiplimo was a convincing winner as he clocked a course record of 58:29.

Kiplimo, who holds three of the five fastest ever times for the distance, managed to take 36 seconds off the course record, coming ahead of Ethiopia’s Seifu Tura (59:56) and Kenya’s Vinicent Nyamongo.
The Ugandan, who set his world record of 56:42 earlier this year, said being a fan of football star Lionel Messi meant he was eager to run in Buenos Aires, even as he prepares for this year’s Chicago Marathon on Sunday, 12 October.
