The race features 10 men who have run sub-2:05 in their careers
For the third year in a row, the elite men’s London marathon field will feature a record six sub-2:04 men in the field.
What’s more, the race, set for 21 April, also features 10 men who have run sub-2:05 in their careers, just one short of the record 11 that started in Tokyo on Sunday.

The charge is led by Kenenisa Bekele (2:01:41) who will be attempting to put up a great showing to get on the Ethiopian Olympic Marathon team after running 2:04:19 in Valencia. Bekele set a new world record in the masters category at the 2023 Valencia Marathon when he ran 2:04:19 aged 41.
With New York City Marathon champion Tamirat Tola and the seventh-fastest man in history Mosinet Geremew all on the card, the Kenyan duo of Alexander Mutiso, who was runner-up at the 2023 Valencia Marathon in a time of 2:03:11 and reigning silver medalist Geoffrey Kamworor have their work cut out.
Emile Cairess is the leading Briton in the men's field. He became the third-fastest Briton in history when he ran 2:08:07 at last year's London Marathon.
Marc Scott, bronze medallist over 3000m at 2022 World Indoor Championships, will make his marathon debut.
