Omanyala will kickstart his individual outdoor campaign at the Cape Miller Continental Tour on Friday, 10 April.

The Kenyan sprint star will then head to the Addis Ababa Grand Prix on Saturday, 18 April, with the race set to provide an early test of his form against elite opposition.

Attention will then shift to home soil, with Omanyala returning for the Kip Keino Classic on Friday, 23 April, a meet that has played a significant role in his rise on the global stage.

He made his debut at the event in 2021, announcing himself with a stunning African record of 9.77 seconds as he finished second.

He went on to claim victory in 2022 in 9.85 seconds and successfully defended his title in 2023. However, recent editions have proved more challenging, with a fifth-place finish in 2024 and a third-place result in 2025.

This year, he will be keen to rediscover his dominance in front of a home crowd.

Just two days later, Omanyala will be back in action at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix on Sunday, 26 April, before shifting his focus to the upcoming World Athletics Relays.

He has already had a modest start to his 2026 campaign, opening his season on the indoor circuit. He competed in an indoor meeting in Paris but finished fourth in the heats, missing out on a place in the final.

At the Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting, he showed slight improvement, progressing to the final after finishing third in the heats before placing eighth overall. He later competed at the Russian Winter Games, finishing fourth in the 60m final.

His slow start to the season has largely been attributed to an injury setback, which disrupted his early preparations.

Outdoors, Omanyala has only featured at the Lefika International Relays so far, but his newly unveiled schedule signals a return to full competition mode as he builds momentum toward major global assignments.
