With a 10k personal best of 26:58 set in Valencia, 2022, Ebenyo, 28, will be the second-fastest male athlete in the stacked field that also includes Eritrean Olympian Yemane Haileselassie and Ethiopian World Junior silver medalist Melknat Wudu.
Sawe, who took the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships title ahead of Sebenyo, has the fastest time - 26:49, set at last year’s adizero Road to Records race in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Also in the field will be Team USA Olympic marathoner Clayton Young, who will toe the line as top Americans in preparation for the Paris Olympic Marathon in August.
In the women’s race, Kenya’s flag will be raised high by the trio of Irine Cheptai, Mercy Chelangat and Stacy Ndiwa.
Cheptai, who leads the time-charts with a personal best of 30:16 set in Prague in 2022, will be up against last year’s runners-up Ndiwa, with Uganda’s Sarah Chelangat and Senayet Getachew of Ethiopia offering stern opposition.
In news confirmed by the organizers however, Kenya’s Edna Kiplagat, Sharon Lokedi and Edward Cheserek have all withdrawn from the race.
Others who have opted out due to travel difficulties include Bravin Kiptoo and Bernard Ngeno.
