The sprinter is looking to bag an individual medal at the global event.
Commonwealth Games 4x400m bronze medalist Boniface Mweresa is already plotting for his next medal with World Championships and Olympics Games in mind.
The 28-year-old missed out on an individual medal at the Club Games after finishing fourth in a tightly contested race. He was, however, rewarded with a personal best, dipping under the 45 seconds mark for 44.96.
"The season is not over yet. I am hoping to get a race out of the country before the season concludes. I want to finish the season on a high. It is not easy to get these races without a manager but I am keeping hope alive,"Mweresa explains.
Having already attained qualification time for the World Championships in 400m, Mweresa says the target is to keep lowering his now PB as he looks to represent Kenya at next year's world championships in Budapest and at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

"I missed out on the African Championships in Mauritius and the World Championships in Oregon but I chose to pick positives from missing the two events.
I had the chance to concentrate on the Commonwealth Games and I am happy with the PB and the relay bronze. This served as a clear testament that with better preparations I can perform much better in the two upcoming events," the sprinter offered.
As part of his preparations for the Budapest World Championships, Mweresa has already resolved to compete in the indoor tour come next season.
"The two events bring together the best in the sport and to be competitive, I must be in a position to run better times than my current PB. Competing in the indoor tours will help me build on speed before the outdoor season begins.
In Oregon, the 400m was won in 44.29 with the top five running under 45 seconds. If I am to medal in Budapest, then I have to prepare with these times in mind," Mweresa opines.
The sprinter says the ultimate prize would be competing at the Olympics Games in Paris but was quick to add that he cannot start thinking about that before he can go past the World Championships hurdle.
"I am taking it one step at a time," he offered adding that landing a manager would be a game changer as it would make it easier to get races abroad where he can gauge his progress.
