Diamond League: Kipyegon's title was never in doubt, was it?

She set a new meeting record in winning the title.

Her craft is like none other seen and when she lines up for a race, the world kinda knows what to expect.

That said, Faith Kipyegon's performance, as the 2023 Diamond League (DL) season came to a close in Eugene, just went to show her pedigree as she dominated the 1500m final, clocking 3:50.72 for her third consecutive title.

The rest of the field dimmed in comparison as Diribe Welteji came in second with a personal best (PB) time of 3:53.93 and Laura Muir was third in 3:55.16 whic is also a season's best.

This is the fourth DL title for the great Kenyan Kipyegon, and a crowning of a season that has seen her break the 1500m and 5000m World records in a span of seven days; breaking the mile record less than two months after.

And she was not done yet! Going to Budapest almost assured of her 1500m title defense, she threw a spanner in the works, going for a double in the two races she is record holder.

Days after stumping her authority in 1500m running in Budapest, she competed her double with victory in 5000m to deny nemesis Siffan Hassan as Beatrice Chebet settled for bronze.

She finishes off the season with another DL title in 1500m.
