The global competition will take place on 4 and 5 May in Nassau, Bahamas

Athletics Kenya (AK) has announced dates for the National Trials for this year's World Athletics Relays.

The one-day event has been penciled for 6 April at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The global competition will take place on 4 and 5 May in Nassau, Bahamas.

Initially scheduled for 11 to 13 April at the same venue, AK were forced to bring the event forward to allow for the athletes to qualify for the world meet within the qualification period.

"Participation in the trials will be purely by invitation. The invitation criteria will be based on the 2024 World Athletics Toplist and compliance with all anti-doping requirements. Additionally, Athletics Kenya will invite teams from other countries to compete in the relay events," the announcement reads in part.

The one-day event will feature trials for the 4x100m men and women l, 4x400m men and women and 4x400m Mixed Relay.

Following the changes, the fourth AK Track and Field Weekend meeting, initially planned for 5 to 6 April in Kisii, will now be held on 12 and 13 April at a venue to be communicated later.

Meanwhile, the Africa Senior Championships have now been confirmed and will be held on June 19-23, 2024 in Cameroon.
