
AIU bans Ezekiel Kipkorir

The 29-year-old marathoner has his results from 25 August 2024 DQ'd
Athletic Integrity Unit (AIU) has imposed a three-year ban on Kenyan marathoner Ezekiel Kipkorir for the Presence/Use of a prohibited substance, Testosterone.
On 25 August 2024, Kipkorir provided a urine Sample In-Competition at the 'NMDC Hyderabad Marathon in Hyderabad, India. On 29 November 2024, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory in New Delhi, India reported that the analysis of the Sample had revealed the presence of Testosterone and at least one of its Metabolites 50-androstane-30,17 diol ("SaAdial) and/or Sa-androstane-30,17 diol (SAdiol) consistent with exogenous origin.
The AIU reviewed the Adverse Analytical Finding in accordance with Article 5 of the International Standard for Results Management ('ISRM) and determined that: the athlete did not have a Therapeutic Use Exemption ("TUE) that had been granted (or that would be granted) for the Testosterone (or its Metabolites) consistent with exogenous origin found in the Sample.
Kipkorir, who was given the chance to request for a B sample test while being requested to provide an explanation for the Adverse Analytical Finding by no later than 12 December 2024.
On said date, he wrote to the All and stated that "I Ezekiel Kipkorir admit the case"
A day later he returned an Admission of Anti-Doping Rule Violations and Acceptance of Consequences Form signed to confirm that he admitted the Anti-Doping Rule Violations and accepted the Consequences specified in the Notice of Allegation.
He received a one-year reduction for admission of guilt.
