Jebet dominated the women's 5000m race on Friday, 2 May, clocking 14:25 to win and earn 12 valuable points.
She also placed third in the 3000m with a strong 8:23 finish on Sunday, 4 May, bringing her total tally to 18 points.
The high number of points was enough to crown her the overall winner of the meet. For her efforts, she walked away with $100,000 (about Ksh13 million).
The Miami win came just a week after Jebet smashed the women-only 10km world record during the Adizero: Road to Records race in Herzogenaurach, Germany, where she clocked an impressive 29:27.
That time bettered the previous record of 30:01 set by the late Agnes Tirop in 2021. It was an emotional triumph for Jebet, who had missed the world record by just two seconds in 2023.
Speaking after her Miami win, Jebet admitted the German feat gave her the much-needed motivation.
"I am happy. Last week, I set a world record, and it gave me motivation and energy to come and push in this event," she told Stride Athletics.
Interestingly, she revealed that her focus had initially been on road races, not the track, and even the world record in Germany caught her off guard.
"I just trained for the road because of the Adizero, which was the company’s race. This year, more focus has been on track, and I have been working on speed and mileage.
I did not know I was going for a world record because my mind was already here [in Miami]. This was a surprise," she said.
Now, with her Miami success behind her, Jebet has her sights set on the third leg of the Grand Slam Track series, which will be held in Philadelphia from Friday, 30 May to Sunday, 1 June.
"I am now going back to training for the Philadelphia GST, and we will see you there," she concluded.
